The Port of Long Beach (Port) has developed a progressive grant program, the Greenhouse Gas Emissions Reduction Mitigation Grant Program (GHG Grant Program), to help offset the negative environmental impact we cause in business every day. The goal of the program is "to fund projects that reduce, avoid, or capture greenhouse gas emissions." $5 million in total grant funds will be allocated, which includes a $1 million cap per organization. There are four eligible categories for which funds are available: Energy Efficiency Projects Transportation Projects Renewable Energy Projects Landscaping Projects With each category having specific measures that qualify, the underlying goal is to reduce greenhouse gas emissions (GHG) around the Port.
